This is one of my favorite brown glazes, developed to reveal different shades depending on what it’s paired with. In this piece, it brings out both light and dark tones reminiscent of wood grain, with hints of ocean blue peeking through in places. The glaze has created beautiful, controlled runs that add a sense of fluidity, while the touches of blue give it a coastal, driftwood-like character.
The exposed clay grounds the piece, enhancing the impression that the glaze has been dipped on rather than fully coated.
