This piece was originally inspired by the idea of fish scales. I layered hessian over a base glaze and applied another glaze through the gaps to create a scale-like effect. I knew the glaze would run and not fully hold the scale pattern, but I was curious to see the result. What emerged was a beautiful, flowing surface that reminds me of trees, with long brown streaks that keep drawing me back to that imagery.
